FEAST

FEAST is the Forum for European-Australian Science and Technology co-operation.

The European Union is the largest scientific partner of Australia, through bilateral collaboration and multilateral projects. FEAST aims to highlight existing multilateral and bilateral S&T cooperation between Europe and Australia and to improve this cooperation, particularly multilateral cooperation, through identifying priorities and enhancing the quality, quantity and visibility of future action.

FEAST is both an electronic forum and a physical presence. Its objectives are to

  • increase the links between European and Australian scientists, and to help them forge links with the relevant institutions;
  • identify and demonstrate cooperation between Europe and Australia ;
  • provide information, on a mutual basis, on the S&T of the countries concerned;
  • provide information on programs and funding to promote cooperation between Europe and Australia ; and
  • identify and exchange best practice and prospects for cooperation.

The FEAST website is a useful tool for researchers in Europe and Australia. It provides information on upcoming events, funding opportunities for collaborative projects, profiles of successful past and ongoing collaborative projects, and contact details for bilateral S&T associations and research fellowship alumni groups. It also holds regular seminars and workshops on various aspects of working with Europe.
