The European Union provides considerable support for cultural activities. Many projects in Europe and around the world are created or funded by various departments of the European Commission. The "Europe and Culture" portal is designed to help anyone interested, whether in the arts, education, research, the public sector or any aspect of culture and Europe, to find their way around these different EU actions. The portal offers useful and straightforward information on cultural activities - music and dance, for example, or the restoration of historic buildings - and on the various EU actions such as cultural cooperation, regulations, funding for culture and international relations.
